Do you happen to know the specs and year for the Telecaster Syd played with the round mirrors on it?

as you can see in “Tonite! let’s all make love in London” this actually a ’50s Fender Esquire with 3 or 6 saddle rosewood bridge, silver plastic sheeting and 15 metal discs on it (and a yellow sticker on this one mirror on the pickguard).

Syd was very fond of DIY but he focused more on the appearance of his psychedelic weapon than on technical modicifactions and everything he did was placing the pickup closer to the strings for thicker sound. *peep*

"I never felt so close to a guitar as that silver one with mirrors that I used on stage all the time" he said once but he gave away his beloved guitar for a black Telecaster in the early ’70s.

Fortunately the classic Esquire series from the ’50s came back (and even its price reminds of those better days)
